Really cant understand how people think this is cool or cute or whatever, this isn't a fucking joke. Hearing about that made me so upset, I hate how people think "or I hate something, I must be sick in [every single fucking illness]". That's not funny, not cute, not nothing! People are suffering, this hurts them for so long so badly, how dare they made this a joke or clothing or anything! And at least donate more money, like gee how can you come here, make a shirt of this, and be like "only 15% to people who actually needs this money!" Ughh why is this a thinggg why did no one told her "wtf are you doing" or stopped her, could've saved everyone here.

I think that Corinna should put more money like 20% to charity but I’m not mad at the merch mainly bc it is putting awareness for anxiety which more ppl should be doing for mental illnesses I think we should just think positively about it instead of bashing her

  • umm louise
    umm louise Degi Síðan síðan

Instead of spending the money on the hoodies to "give to charity" just send that 15% you would of spent straight to the charity...I'm sure if she really cares for the charity she would see if as a good idea and wouldn't have an issue

Turning a mental illness into a trendy sweater isn’t helping bring awareness to it, it’s glorifying it. Anxiety is literally so normal to have, everyone has it and experiences it one way or another, It’s not cool to have it lol. How are you going to try and turn something that’s already such a big thing into today’s society and turn it into clothes and glorify it, it makes people ( younger people) want to lean into their anxiety and live in their despair, because “it’s trendy” . This is just such a joke lmao

As someone with anxiety, I feel like she's making fun of a serious condition. for some reason, it's "relatable" to have anxiety, and mental disorders make you "interesting". Ten years ago, if you told someone you had anxiety, they would call you a wimp. Now they say "omg me too!"

As someone with extreme anxiety I've always felt that I couldnt talk about it in public and almost no one knows how much I struggle. When you post anything online about mental illness I feel like you dont have it, especially saying "I have anxiety, ew!" If that makes any sense, it's hard to put in to words. It could just be my anxiety of realizing shit and the stereotypes I grew up with but 🤷‍♀️

  • The Artsy Fartsy

I honestly don't think she was trying to profit off of mental health. It was shitty and thoughtless behavior yeah, but so many people have been making mental illnesses like depression and anxiety seem 'cute' or 'quirky'. When it's really not. Nothing about it is either of those. So much people have been doing it that anxiety has just become a joke to everyone and no one takes it seriously anymore. She was trying to profit off what she thinks is anxiety maybe. Cus yeah people read about anxiety but don't realize how heavy the weight of having it is. Not every awkward situation ur in or moment of panic you have is anxiety. People need to stop thinking of it like a short cute girl worrying what colour lipstick she should wear and start seeing it as an actual illness. People would never think of autism this way cus they've been taught not to. We should teach people the same about mental illnesses. People should start looking at it in a similar light as that of autism. Something extremely serious, and get this, AN ACTUAL ILLNESS WITH REAL CONSEQUENCES. You need to stop promoting these things as cute and relatable so people actually stop pretending to have it so shit like this doesn't happen.

Thing is I think a lot of people diagnose themselves. So if they’ve just been nervous about whatever they’d say oh I have anxiety. No lol that’s not how the mental illness of anxiety works. I would often cry and find every excuse to not go to school. Which is now something I’m dealing with because I want a education. i wish people would get properly diagnosed instead of just reading some definition on Google.

yikes... she's trying so hard to be relatable. this makes me really annoyed because it would literally give me anxiety to wear that in public because i'd think everyone was looking at me and people were judging me and i look wacky and maybe i should have worn something else. anxiety or any other mental illness isn't something you want to put on a sweatshirt- it's not cute, like it's very hard to do normal things without feeling scared or anxious or like everyone is looking at you and picking apart your every move. and if we're gonna keep up w this mental health "merch" i wonder how "i wanna commit suicide" on a shirt would go over.. i'm very very suicidal like it's a daily thing and i get coping with humor but it's another thing to say ugh i'm gonna kill myself just to be relatable or for attention shit.

  • HeyitsHannah

Eh, gotta disagree with you on this one. The only point I agreed with was that the funds going towards mental health research should have been a lot higher than 15% (and the lack of creativity put into the design). But I really don’t understand why people with anxiety are angry at this. I’ve suffered with anxiety for 13 years, and it makes me happy that anxiety disorder is becoming more recognized in society. It calms my mind to know that I’m not alone, and other people suffer with it too. Not only that but the sweaters like what... 44 bucks? That’s a pretty good deal for a sweater. Usually ISclipsr merch (especially sweaters) cost between 60-110 dollars. Also, it’s been mentioned in numerous vlogs and videos (as you mentioned in your video) that Corinna is a hypochondriac and has severe anxiety that runs in her family. Her brother had mental problems too, and sadly, committed suicide. So it ticks me off to see her shown in such a negative light.
Anywho, agreed with some of it, but I don’t think in any way she should be perceived as some malevolent money grabber. She’s a girl who I think, is trying to bring awareness to a serious cause and hope for something good out of it.

This type of merch makes me feel like my actual mental illness doesn’t exist. People seem to think it’s “quirky” to say they have anxiety or depression but it is honestly terrible. There is nothing quirky about it. Going to therapy frequently, being medicated, having panic attacks in crowded spaces because of sensory overload, it is all terrible.
